Requirements:

They’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join their growing team at the East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC). If you’re passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a state-of-the-art facility, they’d love to hear from you. Prior experience as a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant is needed along with a Level 3 Qualification in clinical healthcare and functional skills Level 1 in Maths and English (or equivalent). The Care Certificate is desirable, but a willingness to undertake it will certainly be seen as a plus. Above all, they are keen to find individuals who align with their values of compassion, pride, inclusivity, and teamwork.

  • Experience working in a healthcare or social care setting, or within a service industry involving direct contact with people.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and build strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding processes.
  • Basic computer skills.

About the Role:

The East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is a brand-new facility at Leicester General Hospital, designed to deliver faster, more efficient planned care services. As a Healthcare Assistant at the EMPCC, you’ll be an essential member of the team, working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll play a crucial role in assessing and monitoring patients, providing personal and clinical care, and assisting registered practitioners. You’ll contribute to reducing waiting times for treatment and improving the patient experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and be a part of a team that is transforming how planned care is delivered. The EMPCC will handle a high volume of patients daily across various specialties, including General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, and ENT. This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care and clinical support to patients under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Assisting with clinical procedures and interventions as delegated.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Promoting a positive and supportive patient environment.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team.
