Job Description:
Instacart is seeking talented Ph.D. students to intern with their dynamic team. Interns will have the opportunity to work on various projects in areas such as search, ads, personalization, recommendation, fulfillment, product and knowledge graph, pricing, and more. They will utilize machine learning and Internet-scale data to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize cutting-edge NLP technologies for query understanding.
• Enhance search relevance by incorporating signals from different sources.
• Improve ads revenue and ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) through ads quality enhancements.
• Work on graph data management and knowledge discovery for knowledge graphs.
• Use cost-sensitive learning for fraud detection and prevention.
• Estimate willingness-to-pay and optimize revenue and user experience through pricing strategies.
• Optimize logistics in various scenarios, including supply/demand prediction and last-mile delivery.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. student in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related fields.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and proficiency in algorithms.
• Effective communication skills and a self-motivated, hands-on approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. student at a top-tier university in the United States and/or Canada.
• Previous internship or work experience in the machine learning space.

Duration and Location:

• Full-time remote internship.

Compensation:
