Job Description

As a Risk Advisory Intern at Grant Thornton LLP, individuals will embark on a journey of professional growth and hands-on experience in the dynamic realm of risk management. Interns will actively contribute to engagements involving business process and information systems controls assessments, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. By collaborating with client delivery teams, interns will immerse themselves in consulting and compliance projects, honing their technical skills and enhancing their understanding of risk solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute high-quality Risk projects and services under the guidance of experienced leadership
  • Participate in consulting and compliance projects, contributing to engagement lifecycle phases
  • Conduct detailed analysis to identify compliance or improvement opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Utilize innovative technologies to enhance service delivery and collaborate with team members effectively
  • Assess business processes and IT controls, identifying areas of risk and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in engagement strategy planning, objective definition, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives to deliver value-added solutions
  • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, participating in marketing initiatives, and supporting thought leadership development
  • Manage workload efficiently, meeting project deadlines and budgetary constraints

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Data Analytics, Internal Audit, Information Technology, MIS, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Desire to pursue professional certifications such as CPA, PMP, CISA, CISSP, CIA, CAMS, or CISM
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment
  • Proficiency in project and time management, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Commitment to lifelong learning, continual skills development, and technological innovation
  • Exceptional client service orientation, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

Duration and Location

This is a full-time internship position located in Arlington, Virginia, USA, spanning the summer of 2025.
