About the Role:

As a Maternity Support Worker at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, you will play a crucial role in the childbearing journey of women and their families. This is your opportunity to provide kind, collaborative, safe, and high-quality care – care that makes all the difference. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team in a supportive maternity setting. This role includes completing the Fundamental Care Certificate program (if not already completed), empowering you to deliver exceptional care confidently. Your responsibilities extend from assisting patients with daily living activities to supporting women in their infant feeding choices and promoting successful breastfeeding. Your contributions will directly impact patient wellbeing, creating a positive experience for both mothers and babies. This is not just a job, it is a chance to join a team that shares a common vision: to deliver exceptional, compassionate, and truly human-centred care, while actively pursuing professional development. UK job seekers are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with daily needs, always upholding privacy and dignity – because everyone deserves respect and compassionate care.
  • Attend to patients’ hygiene, from hair washing and bathing to oral care and dressing – promoting comfort and well-being at every step.
  • Promote continence and provide incontinence support when needed – because sensitive and attentive care matters.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any concerns – your vigilance contributes to early intervention and better patient outcomes.
  • Weigh babies, record findings, and report to the midwife – providing essential data for informed care decisions.
  • Empower women in their chosen infant feeding method, championing breastfeeding and providing comprehensive support – because informed choices lead to positive experiences.
  • Measure and report capillary blood glucose levels as required – contributing to comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide pressure area relief and encourage patient mobility – enhancing comfort and recovery.
  • Participate in in-house training and mentorship – investing in your growth while guiding junior staff. A win-win for everyone.
