About the Role
Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? CUH is searching for a well-organized and proactive Community Glaucoma Coordinator to join their amazing Ophthalmology Glaucoma Team. Think you could be the one? In this role, you will be the friendly face of the Glaucoma Clinics at the ARU centre in Cambridge. You will be managing the reception desk, ensuring all patients feel welcomed and cared for. From registration to booking appointments, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the clinics and helping CUH maintain its outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the reception desk at Glaucoma Clinics held at the ARU centre in Cambridge.
- Register and book appointments for all eligible Community Glaucoma patients, following Trust Policies, Procedures, and National targets. Your efficiency will be key to maintaining the clinic’s flow and ensuring patients receive timely care.
- Handle administrative tasks related to the Glaucoma clinics held in the community clinic. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help keep everything running smoothly.
- Liaise confidently with staff at all levels, contributing to the team’s collaborative spirit.

Requirements

- Qualifications: 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Grade C or above).
- Experience: Experience working in a busy office or reception role, prioritizing tasks, working within guidelines, using Microsoft Office, and working as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Strong data entry and keyboard skills, understanding of confidentiality and medical terminology, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Skills: Flexible and adaptable, able to work under pressure, good communication skills (telephone, email, face-to-face), excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Additional Requirements: A commitment to upholding the Trust values of safe, kind, and excellent care.
Previous experience in an NHS setting, call handling, or dealing with difficult situations is a plus, but not essential.
Salary Details
Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 per year, pro rata.
