District Overview:
Ganotec, a part of Kiewit, is a full-service heavy industrial contractor serving Canada’s industrial sector. They self-perform major disciplines like civil, structural steel erection, mechanical equipment installation, process piping, and electrical/instrumentation controls. Ganotec emphasizes collaboration with owners, suppliers, and engineers to execute projects cost-effectively while fostering growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program.
- Monitor construction project activities for compliance with regulations and policies.
- Establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel.
- Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing safety metrics.
- Review project work plans for accuracy and assist in safety program audits and training.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
- Knowledge of construction safety and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
- Ability to travel and relocate as required.
Additional Requirements:
- Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal).
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in varying environments.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
