Job Description
Intellisense Systems, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2024 program in Torrance, CA. The intern will assist in the design and development of various new and emerging technologies, contributing to projects that rapidly transform ideas into tangible products. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic research and development (R&D) environment, ideal for STEM students eager to gain practical skills and insights into real-world applications.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on impactful projects within product development or R&D, directly influencing the company’s technology portfolio.
- Gain practical experience under the guidance of seasoned engineers, specializing in areas such as avionics display systems, environmental monitoring systems, and emerging technologies like Radio Frequency, Augmented Intelligence, and Machine Learning.
- Participate in social activities with fellow interns and employees, fostering professional relationships and personal growth.
- Complete an End of Internship Deliverable/Capstone Project to showcase acquired skills and contributions during the internship period.
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing priorities seamlessly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in PC software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Duration and Location
- Duration: 8-12 weeks (on-site in Torrance, CA)
- Hours: 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday
- Availability: May/June through August/September
- Open to rising Sophomores through Graduate Students
Compensation
- Pay Range: $19.45/hour-$24.00/hour (Salary varies based on skills, qualifications, and experience)
- This role is not eligible for Paid Time Off or Benefits
