Job Description:
Biogen is offering a 12-week internship opportunity from June to August 2024 for aspiring Machine Learning Engineers. The Data Office of Biogen Digital Health is seeking interns to collaborate with experienced professionals in various fields such as Real World Data and ML Ops for Biomedical Image and Instrumentation Pipelines. Interns will work on developing and implementing solutions to accelerate data stewardship throughout the scientific and engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of data products or application features, understanding data generation, and cloud-based computing platforms.
- Collaborate with Agile Scrum teams and subject matter experts to drive project success.
- Deliver code, architecture, and design documents for assigned projects.
- Implement best practices for hyperscale data management and ML Ops infrastructure.
- Evaluate and manage methods to assess and prevent algorithmic bias in biomedical discovery.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and version control systems.
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
- Interest in regulated processes for biomedical discovery.
- Familiarity with cloud and distributed computing frameworks.
- Knowledge of data privacy, stewardship, and governance frameworks is a plus.
- Clinical informatics experience or experience dealing with experimental or clinical data is desirable.
