Job Description

As an intern at the Council on Foreign Relations, individuals will receive comprehensive training in foreign policy, international affairs, research, and writing. The internship will focus on recent developments in global health and development, offering opportunities for research, writing, and program planning. Interns will actively contribute to the Global Health, Economics, and Development Roundtable series and Think Global Health initiatives. The internship program is paid, requiring a commitment of 14 to 18 hours per week, and offers both hybrid and fully remote work options.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on various topics related to global health and development, including COVID-19 response, health legislation, and non-communicable diseases.
  • Assist in writing and editing content for research memos, briefs, blog posts, and other publications.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings and events, including preparation of materials and guest check-in.
  • Contribute to Think Global Health through writing, editing, and promotional efforts.
  • Track relevant daily news reports for the department.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student focusing on global health, international development, economics, or related fields.
  • Completion of at least four semesters of college coursework.
  • Prior research or internship experience, preferably in health policy or public policy.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in research, writing, and editing.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
  • Data analysis/visualization skills (R, Stata, etc.) are a plus.

Duration and Location

This is a paid summer internship located at 1777 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20006.

Compensation

Interns will receive $17.00 per hour.
