Job Description:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is offering a 12-month Co-Op opportunity for eligible students in a Co-Op program. The primary focus of this position is to provide support for the Engineering department, particularly in enhancing reliability and equipment maintenance processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Reliability Engineering Team/Manager to establish a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) culture and improve equipment performance.
  • Develop, generate, and report on Reliability & Equipment Maintenance KPIs using tools like PowerBI.
  • Support work execution management elements such as MRO Spares, PM optimization, Bill of Materials, and CMMS Readiness.
  • Assist in maintenance optimization reviews and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to improvement projects, Reliability Engineering projects, and processes.
  • Develop asset criticality matrix and spare parts criticality analysis ranking tools.
  • Maintain an online database of project documentation and provide administrative support for site audits and equipment failure tracking.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a University degree or College diploma in an Engineering or trades program, preferably Mechanical.
  • Commitment to an 8–12-month period.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Any previous experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Facilities departments in a Manufacturing company is an asset.

Duration and Location:

  • 12-month Co-Op opportunity located in Whitby, ON, Canada.
