Responsibilities
As a member of the Data Engineering – Business ETL team, you will spearhead the management of data warehouse and pipelines crucial for financial and regulatory reporting. Your contributions will empower various Circle business functions, including Finance, Accounting, and Analytics, by providing operational excellence and actionable insights, thus facilitating business growth. Your role entails reshaping data flow across the organization, with a paramount focus on data accuracy and integrity to uphold Circle’s transparency, trust, and accountability standards.

Key Tasks

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and oversee scalable data life cycles for new and existing products.
  • Develop and maintain data ETL/ELT pipelines to aggregate data for analytical and reporting purposes.
  • Surface data to internal and customer-facing applications for analytical, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish integrations with third-party systems to source and distribute datasets effectively.
  • Enhance operations, monitoring, and performance of the data warehouse continually.
  • Innovate data storage and processing methods, fostering collaboration among Circle business teams and external applications.
  • Contribute to the design, deployment, and enhancement of a scalable data platform for ingesting, storing, and aggregating datasets.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data modeling, pipelines, quality, and warehousing of financial data.

Requirements
For Senior Data Engineer (III)

  • 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Advanced SQL expertise in big data warehouse systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration management engines like Airflow or Dagster.
  • Proficiency in Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience in building scalable infrastructure for data processing.
  • Background in financial data management, preferably in payment systems or related domains.
  • Knowledge of data provenance and governance.
  • Familiarity with open-source or related big data technologies.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with agility and initiative.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
