Serco’s Training and Experience Program (STEP) offers undergraduate university and college students paid accredited internship opportunities to gain valuable work experience in a professional environment. The program aims to help interns build a career roadmap by providing challenging and rewarding learning experiences with Serco.
Summer Internship Program 2024
- Duration: 10 weeks, from May 28th to August 9th.
- Work hours: 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with half-days on Fridays.
- Pay Rate: $18/hr.
Role & Responsibilities
The Machine Learning Intern will join a team of research scientists and software engineers at Serco’s Machine Learning Group (MLG) within the Advanced Technologies Group (ATG). They will work remotely, collaborating daily with the technical staff. The intern will contribute to developing innovative machine learning technologies to tackle complex challenges faced by the U.S. military.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should:
- Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
- Possess working knowledge of Python and/or Java.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be a strong team player capable of contributing effectively to project development.
Additional Skills
Ideal candidates will also have experience with or coursework in machine learning.
