Job Description
Stantec is offering a 4-month summer internship opportunity for a student to join their Urban Planning team. Based in their Calgary office, the intern will engage in a range of projects spanning private and public sectors, including policy plans, new development plans, public engagement, and infrastructure planning. The role offers exposure to diverse planning disciplines and opportunities to contribute expertise to client projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of reports and documents for development applications processing.
- Contribute to project planning and organization to ensure successful project delivery.
- Utilize provincial and local planning policy knowledge for planning policy studies.
- Support the organization of public consultation programs.
- Assist in marketing initiatives including proposal preparation and client liaison.
- Interface with clients to provide clear and solution-oriented recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to support complex policy and community planning tasks.
- Understanding of land development processes and planning theory.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with inDesign is an asset.
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Planning.
- Some travel may be required for client meetings and site visits.
