Job Description
Join Veteran Benefits Guide as an AI Software Engineer and contribute to shaping the future of artificial intelligence within the company. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of AI projects, from straightforward initiatives to complex systems. The ideal candidate, a mid-level to senior software engineer, will play a vital role in integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into VBG’s operations, enhancing workplace efficiency, and driving innovation.
Responsibilities
- Implement and refine AI solutions, starting with GPT assistants deployed using OpenAI APIs.
- Process and interpret data from various formats, particularly PDFs, to support AI-driven applications.
- Lead the transition to in-house AI solutions, including the development and maintenance of vector databases and local GPT models.
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of AI solutions to meet enterprise-level demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging AI technologies to enhance business processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Prioritize and enforce security protocols to safeguard AI implementations and data integrity.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++, and familiarity with AI-related frameworks and libraries.
- Strong background in AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and GPT models.
- Experience with API integration and management, particularly OpenAI or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of data extraction from documents, especially PDFs, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with vector databases and local AI model hosting is a plus.
- Understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and security principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and technical innovation skills.
- Experience with AI model training and deployment tools, such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, is preferred.
- Experience in natural language processing tasks, such as text classification and sentiment analysis, is preferred.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js is advantageous.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office-based environment, with standard office equipment used regularly.
Position Type
Full-time, exempt
Core Business Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with in-office attendance required three times per week and the remainder remote.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.
