Job Description:
This internship at Delta Dental of Minnesota offers hands-on experience in Desktop Support and Security within a dynamic corporate environment. The IT Intern will collaborate with the IT team to provide technical assistance to end-users, enhance system security, and contribute to various IT projects and initiatives. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain insight into Information Technology operations by assisting in areas such as infrastructure systems support, network maintenance, and desktop imaging.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 helpdesk support for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, including network connectivity and software installations.
- Participate in desktop imaging and deployment projects, including system upgrades.
- Maintain inventory of hardware and software resources.
- Assist in monitoring and responding to security incidents.
- Document IT procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Maintain effective communication with end-users and other team members.
- Collaborate with external vendors as directed by IT Leadership.
- Execute assigned tasks or projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze issues effectively.
- Familiarity with IT security principles and best practices.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant coursework in Information Technology or Business.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business.
- Strong interest in IT, particularly in Desktop Support and Security.
- Knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity software (Microsoft Office), and basic networking concepts.
Duration and Location:
- Summer 2024; 29.5 hours per week; On-site in Minneapolis, MN.
