Position Overview:
Chevron is currently accepting online applications for the position of Human Resources Intern in Calgary, Alberta. The internship is expected to last for 8 months, starting in May 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare people data and reports, providing analytical support to the HR team in areas such as compensation, benefits, population demographics, surveys, attrition, and performance and talent management programs.
- Assist in onboarding, employee and leadership training, and tracking.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries, redirecting them as needed.
- Support the administration of domestic and international mobility programs.
- Assist in analyzing current policies, market data, and internal global practices to ensure alignment with growth initiatives in Canada.
- Maintain accurate employee data records in the HRIS system.
- Perform various administrative duties, including filing, organizing, drafting employee communication, and producing reports.
- Contribute to HR projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
- General knowledge of Human Resources theories, practices, and resources.
- Familiarity with employment and human rights legislation.
- Demonstrated high academic performance.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic with an internal drive to succeed.
- Previous experience in Workday is an asset.
- Previous oil and gas-related internship experience is an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Flexible Work:
- Alternative work schedules, including 9/1 (work 8.33-hour days, with every other Friday off).
- Hybrid work model – work remotely from home two days a week (Monday & Friday).
Relocation Options:
- Relocation within Canada may be considered within Chevron parameters.
