Requirements:

LSCFT is looking for passionate individuals ready to embark on a fulfilling career in nursing. You’ll need Maths and English GCSEs (grade C/4 or above), 48 UCAS points, and at least 12 months of healthcare experience.   • GCSEs in Maths and English (grade C/4 or above) are essential. (English Literature isn’t accepted).
  • You must have 48 UCAS points (or equivalent qualifications with 12 months care experience).
  • 12 months of experience in a healthcare setting is essential.
  • You should be comfortable with some travel for placements (up to 90 minutes each way) and working shifts and weekends.
  • Strong communication skills and an understanding of healthcare are crucial.
  • A willingness to study independently and complete assignments outside work hours is essential.

Salary Details:

£24,071 to £25,674 a year Per Annum (subject to confirmation)

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to train as a Nursing Associate within the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Barrow-in-Furness. Starting in March 2025, this two-year apprenticeship program, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Nursing Associate. You’ll be working within clinical practice, gaining experience in different mental health services, and attending university with dedicated study leave. Upon successful completion, you’ll be guaranteed a permanent Band 4 Nursing Associate role within LSCFT.

Key Responsibilities:

As a trainee, you’ll:

  • Be based in clinical practice with study leave for university attendance.
  • Rotate through different services within the CMHT (where applicable).
  • Undertake block placements in various healthcare settings.
  • Learn the fundamentals of exceptional care.
  • Develop knowledge of physical and mental health.
  • Gain practical experience through clinical skills training.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and colleagues.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check:

This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess any past criminal convictions, as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1975).
