Requirements:

They are looking for a quick-thinking and resourceful Security Officer. You’ll need to be able to work independently, using your initiative to make decisions, sometimes under pressure. If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be both friendly and assertive, then they want to hear from you. Two years of experience in a customer service-related environment is a must.

  • Two years of customer service experience is essential.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, databases) are required.
  • Excellent report writing and administrative skills are essential.
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative is key.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and tact are crucial.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor, combined with the ability to be firm when necessary.

Salary Details:

£24,071 – £25,674 Per annum pro rata

About the Role:

As a Security Officer at MKUH, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of their staff, patients, visitors, and property. You’ll be working 12-hour rotating shifts, performing a variety of tasks, including patrols, CCTV monitoring, responding to emergency calls, and assisting the police. This role requires someone who can think on their feet, make sound judgments, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security patrols across the hospital site.
  • Operate CCTV cameras and monitor surveillance systems.
  • Respond to emergency calls (code victor) and provide immediate assistance.
  • Assist police with inquiries.
  • Contribute to reducing criminal activity.
  • Patrol car parks, report vehicle offenses, and ensure staff and visitor safety.
  • Manage stressful situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Undertake required training and development.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check:

This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess any past criminal convictions, as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1975).
